Global Compact

In April 2007, the Hager Group signed up to the Global Compact, a voluntary business initiative supervised by the United Nations. The aim of the pact, which now has 3,000 members worldwide, is to foster corporate social responsibility – and thus make the globalisation process more social and ecological.

The Hager Group approach

In fact, the Global Compact values correspond to those held by the Hager Group. For in terms of corporate social responsibility, we take our lead from the principles set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations, from the Core Labour Standards of the International Labour Organisation and from the guidelines issued by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for international corporations. This approach being a matter of course at Hager, we strive within the sphere of our influence to make a sound contribution to safeguarding human rights. Moreover, we place great value on working with suppliers and business partners who also act in compliance with the ethical values set out in the UNGC.

The COP report

The most important tool within the Global Compact is a Communications on Progress report (COP) in which an individual company describes the actions and measures it has taken with regard to the ten principles. The Hager Group is pleased this year to be publishing its first COP report. You can download it here and find out what measures were taken to support the UNGC over the last two years.
